1. Susquehanna Riverboat Cruise

The Susquehanna River is a natural highlight of Harrisburg. There are so many activities you can enjoy on or near the river like fishing, kayaking, biking, or hiking. For a real family treat, take your kids on the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat Cruise. Enjoy views of the Harrisburg skyline along with the narrated tour. They also have themed tours like a murder mystery cruise, wing night, and live music excursions.

2. Wildwood Park

Drive your motorhome to Wildwood Park, a 229-acre park right outside of Harrisburg. While walking the three-mile paved trail, be sure to stop and enjoy the local flora and fauna as well as some prime bird-watching. The kids can run around and explore the park, and you can all have a relaxing afternoon together.

3. Pennsylvania National Fire Museum

If you have young kids who are enthralled with firefighters, they will absolutely love a visit to the Pennsylvania National Fire Museum. It’s located in an 1899 Victorian-style firehouse with displays on everything firefighting, from hydrants to horse-drawn fire trucks and old fire dispatch consoles.

4. State Museum of Pennsylvania

A visit to the State Museum of Pennsylvania may seem boring to your kids, but not this museum. It showcases Pennsylvania’s history, from the dinosaur period until today. There are also exhibits on astronomy, the state’s wildlife, and the Civil War. They also won’t want to miss the mastodon skeleton or the planetarium.
